What if dragons were real, living around us right now? What if that airplane flying across the sky isn't what it seems? What if it's actually... a dragon?

Welcome to the world of the Dragon Academy - where dragons can disguise themselves as aircraft and Dragon Tamers (people who can see them) go to school to learn how to control them. Deep in the frozen Canadian wilderness lies the Albertan Outpost, home of the Dragon Academy. Kids from all around the world come to the school to learn how to train their dragons and live in the Dragon Tamer world.

But it's not as perfect as it seems. The Tenebrian Knights, a growing threat of hostile Dragon Tamers, raid Dragon Legion outposts, slowly taking over one base at a time. As the Knights move across the North American continent, the Legion tightens their already suffocating security.

Keira Mackenzie, a new Dragon Tamer, works with her friends to defeat the Tenebrian Knights and discover secrets at the Academy, all the while attempting to keep their grades up. Can the team of kids combat the darkness? Or will the Dragon Tamer world fall? And what about the Legion? Can Keira fight the corruption within the organization?

The Story

Miles is the genius behind the Dragon Academy. She loves writing. And she loves kids who haven't been ruined by highschool yet. That's why she loves writing middle grade fiction. Miles began working on the world for her current work in progress, the Dragon Academy series, when she was twelve, and she's kind of obsessed with it. She ended up making the world so detailed that she decided to make a website to write about it instead of cluttering her books up with random facts.

Miles currently resides near Washington, D.C. In her spare time, she enjoys sword fighting, parkour, stunting, drawing, math, leather working, acting, playing the devil's advocate, learning cool skills, screaming the lyrics to her favorite songs when no one's listening (she's doing that right now), and being stupid (she's doing that right now, too).
